So Sunday we finally decided to take Brinlee to the ER. (Note that we got to the ER at 10:30 a.m.) She was drinking and having soft foods but every time she would try and eat a solid she would throw up. So we got their and got right in. Did the X-ray. And there it was right at the base of her throat. The interesting thing was that all of the resident doctor and our ER doctor said by the way that she was acting that it had to be in her G.I. track by now. But nope. She they called the ENT (ears, nose, and throat) doctor in. He said that if it was a little farther down that they would have to send us to Pittsburgh to have it removed. Thank heavens he said that he could do it. We stripped her down to her diaper and put her in a baby gown. So sad. Then Brinlee and me got wheeled off to the surgery waiting area. They gave Brinlee a cute baby cap with animals on it. She loved it. I explained to her that she would have to go with the lady with the hat like hers. It was time..I carried her to the surgery doors. I gave her a big kiss and hug and told her that she had to go with the nurse. She was holding on to my neck like I would never see her again. I had to fight my tears back. Finally she have me huge XOXO and then went to the lady. After about 30 min. the dr. came in and said that they got the penny out and she was doing great. I ran back to see her with Mitch and Makena. I grabbed and held her. After 2 1/2 hrs of observation and 4 popsicles and 3 jellos. She was back to herself.
What a scare. I really hope to never go through that again. That is the most expensive penny that we will ever own. lol
