Easter Day

Well this was some day. It started out great. Makena went down stairs looking for her basket that the Easter Bunny had hidden.

Makena got a play doctors kit in her basket, it was a hit. This is her serious Dr. Ranzenberger face. lolThen off to church were the girls wore matching dresses. Everyone loved them. Thanks mom!Then over to the in laws house. We started off with an Easter Egg Hunt. Makena had a great time.
Brinlee didn't. She had a hard Easter night. Gas, teething, and not not happy. Her crying went on for twenty min. or so, then stopped, then started and I couldn't calm her down for 45 min. After this I was completly spent emotionally and physically. Needless to say we called it a night.

But right before we left what did the Easter Bunny leave for her at Grandma's house? Her very own bike. She loves it and is trying so hard to pedle. Thank you Easter Bunny (Grandma Dana). She has been asking for a bike for a year.

All and all I think it was a quite eventful day. One I won't be forgetting any time soon.

Easter Prep.

Today we went over to Grandma's to dye Easter Eggs and decorate cupcakes. Makena loved it. She thought it was amazing that these white eggs come out so many different colors. I don't think that I have ever dyed eggs. I enjoyed myself. I think that I'm going to have to carry on this tradition. Making your own traditions when you have kids I think is important, I hope this will become a timeless tradition in ours.

Family Time

I love having my family visit. Aimee, Jason, and my mum came to visit. We watched movies, talked, ate, went bowling, to fabric stores, and had a great time. I just wish that they could have stayed longer. Here are some fun pictures of us together.

Bowling Fun

My mother, brother Jason, and sister in law Aimee came into town for a quick visit. We decided that we should go bowling. So we headed down to the nearest lanes. This was Makena first time bowling. I wasn't sure that she would really enjoy it. But I bought her two games anyways, mitch could always play them if she didn't.

Needless to say that she loved it!! She wanted to bowl everyones frame, but was very patient in waiting her turn. Everyone had a great time.

Oh and I couldn't resist taking a picture of these adorable bowling shoes! So cute!

One step closer

When mitch and I were first married graduate school felt like a life time away. He has been going year round part time since we got married, while working two jobs. Now that he has a Associates in Science, we moved states and have gone through the application process for his Pharmacy Program, it really is a waiting game.
But the waiting is over. He has an interview with his #2 pick. We are thrilled. News is better than none. And who knows we still have another one and half months of the offical "interview time". Maybe we will hear back from our #1 school.
We are so close. Life is really just starting for us in our married lives. We have kids, a dog, love, now all we are waiting for is for the finishing of school. Just the next step in our long journey together. I couldn't be more excited about it!!!
After he graduates (can you tell I'm ready for that and he hasn't even gotten in yet!lol) more doors will open up. We can buy a nice house, and go on vacations. There are so many journeys yet to be had. Life is exciting.

My Girls

Since we have had Brinlee Makena has been great. She really loves her little sister. And I can already tell that Brinlee is captivated with Makena. Makena is the only one that can really make her laugh.

Yesterday I took some cute pictures of there play time together.

I can hardly wait till Brinlee is moving around. I'm hoping for them to be the best little buddies together.

72 hour kit

Lately a reoccurring thought has been coming to me. I have the greatest impression that I need to go over our 72 hour kits. Mitchell and I have 72 backpacks. We did these when we first had Makena, and I haven't looked in them since. So tonight I finally cracked them open and added numerous items. I made Makena her own backpack, while I carry for Brinlee and Mitch carries for Shelby. Maybe I should get Shelby a dog backpack, that would be nice.

I did have a really hard time finding lists of things to put in a children's 72 hour kit though. So if anyone can think of something let me know. Or suggestions on anything to do with kits. But overall I think that they are coming together quite well.

I think this thought really has been getting to me because we live right in tornado alley. I would hate to run from our house, and have nothing. At least with these pack we have a little of something. Peace of mind, and a satisfaction in listening to the counsel of the church. Now if I could only get food storage going.............
